Echelon Reflect vs NordicTrack Vault
Quick verdict
Winner on Gym Score: NordicTrack Vault (82)
Echelon Reflect and NordicTrack Vault are direct competitors in the smart mirror category. Both offer subscription-based on-demand fitness with mirror displays. Echelon's content library is broader (cycling, rowing, yoga, strength); NordicTrack's iFit content is more polished but more strength-focused. Echelon is generally cheaper hardware; iFit requires NordicTrack-brand cardio for full integration. Choose by ecosystem affinity; hardware is roughly comparable.
Choose the Echelon Reflect if you want a smart mirror with broad fitness content (cycling, rowing, yoga, strength), and don't already own NordicTrack equipment.
Read the full review →Choose the NordicTrack Vault if you already own NordicTrack cardio (treadmill, bike, rower) and want iFit integration that ties the mirror's strength content to your cardio sessions.

The real tradeoff
Subscription dependency is the structural shared risk. Both mirrors are essentially paperweights without active subscriptions ($30 to $40 per month). Cancel the sub, lose the content, and you have an expensive mirror. NordicTrack's iFit has been the more stable subscription; Echelon has changed pricing and bundling more frequently. Hardware resale is poor for both — these mirrors sell for 20 to 30 percent of new price after 3 years.
Skip both if you can be talked out of subscription fitness. A pull-up bar plus YouTube videos covers most of what either mirror provides at zero subscription cost. Browse /category/smart-mirrors only if you genuinely want subscription content.
Buyer questions
How much does ongoing subscription cost?
Echelon Premier is around $34 per month; iFit Family is around $39 per month. Both offer family plans and annual discounts. Subscription is required for nearly all functionality — neither mirror is useful as a standalone device. Subscription terms can change; read current pricing pages before committing to annual plans.
Can I cancel and use the mirror as a display?
Echelon offers basic on-demand classes without subscription; iFit's free tier is very limited. Without subscription, both mirrors lose most of their value. Don't buy if you might cancel within a year. User adherence over months matters more than peak intensity in any single session — pick what you'll actually use.
Do they work in apartments?
Yes — both are wall-mounted or stand-mounted. The Echelon is lighter and easier to wall-mount; NordicTrack Vault requires more support for its larger frame. Both display upright dimensions of about 50 by 22 inches. Renters should also check lease terms — some buildings restrict heavy equipment over certain weights on upper floors.
