One honesty note on the evidence: the cardiovascular and longevity findings people cite for saunas (the Finnish KIHD cohort, JAMA Internal Medicine 2015) come from traditional hot Finnish saunas, not infrared cabins at any spectrum. Generalising them to a 120V far-IR cabin is not supported.

How is this different from the Andora already ranked #1 in this category?
Same brand, different size and cabinet. The Andora is a two-person Canadian hemlock cabin at roughly $2,399; this is a one-person Pacific cedar cabin at roughly $1,500 with a 34 x 32 inch footprint. Both are carbon far-infrared on 120V. If you have the floor space and might ever share a session, the Andora is the better buy. If the room genuinely cannot take a two-person cabin, this is the version that fits.
Is the red light therapy panel doing anything?
It is a visible red LED panel in the ceiling, not a near-infrared heating element. Red-light photobiomodulation has its own separate and still-emerging evidence base for skin and mitochondrial effects; it is not the same mechanism as the far-infrared heat, and it does not make this a full-spectrum sauna. Treat it as an included extra, not as a reason to choose this over a full-spectrum cabin.
How low is the EMF, really?
Dynamic Saunas states ultra-low EMF for the carbon panels. We have not measured it and we do not have an independent third-party figure for this model, so that is where the honest ceiling sits. If a certified sub-1 mG reading is a requirement, buy a model that publishes one — do not take a marketing phrase, ours included, as a measurement.
What temperature will it actually hold?
A 120V infrared cabin of this size typically settles in the 130–140°F range after 30–45 minutes, and drops 5–10°F each time the door opens. That is normal for the format and is fine for infrared protocols, but it is nowhere near the 160–180°F of a 240V Finnish-style room.
Can I put it in a garage?
Yes, on a sealed concrete, tile or hardwood floor, with about 6 inches of clearance behind for ventilation. Avoid carpet. An unheated garage in winter will lengthen warm-up noticeably, and the cedar will move a little with big humidity swings — keep it out of standing damp.
