Black Friday Home Gym Deals 2026: What to Wait For

Last updated September 23, 2026. This guide is published before the sales start on purpose, because the useful work happens now. The section near the end headed "Refreshed in November" is where live deals will go once they exist; until then it tells you what to check.

Every year r/homegym opens an official Black Friday thread, and the 2025 edition ran to more than two thousand comments. The people who did well in it had chosen what they wanted in October, knew what it normally cost, and could tell a structural discount from a cosmetic one.

That is what this guide is for, and it is a researched guide rather than a shopping diary. Everything below comes from the sellers' own sale pages and policies, Amazon's published pricing and returns rules, and a read of several years of r/homegym and r/GarageGym deal threads.

Black Friday is a month now, and a contested one

The sale runs all November

Brand-direct sellers have mostly stopped treating it as one Friday. REP Fitness's own Black Friday FAQ describes a "Black November" of deals with new drops every week, closing with a Cyber Monday code. Bells of Steel layered daily "doorcrasher" items on top of its sitewide event; the archived 2025 sale page shows one dated November 30. The advice that repeats across the r/homegym threads is to sign up for each brand's sale emails and check them daily, because a rack week or a bench week can come and go before you notice.

Regulars disagree on whether it is worth the wait

• In the r/GarageGym thread asking whether Black Friday is still a thing, buyers describe everyday prices creeping up before the sale, so the discount mostly cancels the increase.
• In r/homegym's requests-for-2026 thread, opened after last season, several people felt the event underwhelmed and that premium brands' markdowns were small.
• The counterweight comes up just as often: people planning a big order from one brand, such as a full rack build, say a cart-wide percentage makes waiting worthwhile. A September 2025 thread makes exactly that case.

Where the discounts actually landed last year

Headline percentages are ceilings

The clearest evidence we found is Bells of Steel's own Black Friday collection page, captured by the Internet Archive in both 2024 and 2025. We read the first page of each capture, about thirty products, and recorded the "up to" badge on every one. Each badge is itself a ceiling, the best discount across that product's variants.

Two things fall out of that table. The banner said 30 percent in both years while the typical product sat well below it. And the core purchases, a rack and a set of adjustable dumbbells, carried low-teens badges both years. The steepest badges in 2025 went to specialty pieces: an open trap bar, a Swiss bar, rack attachments. The 2025 page also ran a flat 15 percent across the Hydra, Manticore and Kraken rack lines.

A cart-wide code is a different animal

REP's structure is simpler. Its FAQ describes the Cyber Monday discount as a code for 10 percent off the entire cart. Non-REP-branded items and pre-orders are excluded from the discount but still count toward the cart total, the local-pickup discount stacks on top, and the page calls the event its best sale of the year.

Rule of thumb: read the badge on the exact item you want, not the banner. On both Bells of Steel captures the banner said 30 percent and the middle product said far less.

How to tell a real deal from an anchored one

The strikethrough price has rules

Amazon publishes what its crossed-out numbers mean. A List Price is the manufacturer's or seller's suggested retail price, and Amazon says it only shows one if customers bought the product, or other retailers offered it, at or above that price in the past 90 days (180 days for seasonal goods). A Typical Price is the 90-day median price customers actually paid on Amazon, leaving out limited-time promotions. A Lowest price in XX days label means the current price is at or below the lowest featured offer over that window.

A saving against Typical Price is measured against what people really paid. A saving against List Price is measured against a suggested price that only has to have been met at some point in the last three months, and Amazon's own page says list prices may not reflect the prevailing market price.

The US Federal Trade Commission's guide on former-price comparisons draws the same line: a legitimate former price is one the item was openly offered at, regularly, for a reasonably substantial period, not an inflated price set so a bigger cut can be advertised later.

The short version: judge the price, not the percentage. A percentage is only as honest as the number it is measured from.

Why the same machine costs the same everywhere

Many manufacturers set minimum advertised price terms for their retailers; the FTC's guidance on manufacturer-imposed requirements explains how those policies work. That is why a big-name machine can show one advertised price everywhere, and why the brand's own sale is often the only event that moves it.

Buy now, wait for November, or wait longer

Two months of training is worth something

A point that recurs in the threads is that a discount can be smaller than the cost of not training. Bells of Steel's Light Commercial Power Rack sat at up to 11 and 12 percent in the two captures above, and its bigger rack lines at 15 percent in 2025. If you would use a rack for the two months between now and the sale, those are the numbers to weigh the delay against.

Reasons to buy now:

• You would train on it every week between now and Thanksgiving.
• The seller offers a price match that covers the sale. REP's FAQ says it honors price matches within 14 days of purchase.
• The item's price history shows no November dip, so there is nothing to wait for.

Reasons to wait:

• A large order from one brand where a cart-wide percentage applies.
• A specialty bar or rack attachment, the category that carried the biggest badges in both Bells of Steel captures.
• You have not measured the room yet. Spend October on whether your floor can take the load and the ceiling height a rack needs; both are free.

One policy to read before an October purchase: Bells of Steel's refund policy offers store credit if a product goes on sale within 30 days of purchase, but carves out November 1 to January 15. Do not count on it across the sale.

Freight and returns: the costs a deal page leaves out

A rack or a treadmill is exactly the purchase a return hurts most. These are the terms each seller states on its own policy page.

Delivery is the other hidden cost. In past deal threads, several buyers describe big November orders arriving weeks after they were placed. If the item is a gift, check the ship-by date on the product page before you pay, not after.
